Our Pastors, Staff and Leaders
Pastor Joel is a native son of Riverview Baptist, having been born into the church family in 1980. He worked as a volunteer with the youth program for 4 years before joining the church staff in 2003. Joel graduated from Northwestern College with a degree in Ministry, and obtained his Master's of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary in St. Paul. Joel became Senior Pastor at Riverview in April of 2015. Joel and his wife Betsy have a son, James and a daughter, Hannah, and a cat, Martha. Pastor Joel blogs here and here.
Pastor Harold volunteers his service to Riverview Baptist Church as Visitation Pastor for the sick and homebound. From 1983 to 2000, Harold served as the senior pastor of the congregation. He is a graduate of North American Baptist Seminary. He and his wife Marj served as church planters in the United States as well as missionaries in Cameroon and Nigeria, West Africa.

Pastor of Christian Life & Growth
Pastor Levi serves as the pastor of Christian Life and Growth. He and his wife Emily are both native Minnesotans. They met while they both were attending Northwestern College. Pastor Levi graduated from Northwestern with a degree in Communication and Bible. Feeling called to ministry, Levi attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated with his Master's of Divinity in 2013. Levi and Emily have been married since 2007 and they have three children, Gideon, Joshua, and Daniel. Check out Levi's blog here.
Kathie serves as Riverview’s part-time administrative assistant and oversees Riverview’s bulletin and newsletter production, social media posts, special projects, and website maintenance. Kathie has been married to Matt since 1987 and together they have enjoyed the adventure of raising three children—two young adults and one teenager.

Pastor of Youth & Worship
Pastor Richard received his Masters of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2013 after finishing his B.A. at Northwestern in 2009. He was pleased to join the pastoral staff at RBC in July 2015 after an internship in teaching the youth that previous school year. Always active, his diverse interests include athletics, Hebrew, film, archery, classic literature, guitar, and good green grass.
